I bring a wide, varied kete to my mahi. A blend of practical knowing, intuitive guidance and the kind of "all rounder" experience that helps people feel at ease from the very first korero. When we sit together, we take time to feel into where your hauora is resting and how we can move gently towards balance.

My mahi is a weaving of mirimiri, mahi wairua, karakia and waiata - creating a space where your tinana can soften, your wairua can settle and your mauri can find its natural rhythm again.

Together, we navigate your healing in a way that is grounded, safe and deeply connected.

When you step into my rongoā healing space, you are welcomed into a place of calm, safety, and deep connection. We will always begin with whitiwhiti kōrero - gentle, open conversation that allows us to settle, breathe, and meet one another wairua to wairua, heart to heart.

This is a time for you to be seen, heard, and held without judgement, and for us to build the hononga, trust and whakawhanaungatanga that will guide your journey together.

I draw from my own lived experiences, the mātauranga gifted to me along the way, and the tools that have supported my own life & healing.

Our first session is centred on connection - understanding what you carry, what you need, and giving you the space to feel whether I am the right person to walk alongside you. If I sense that your healing would be better supported elsewhere, I will always honour that and guide you gently in the right direction.

My practice is grounded in mirimiri, where healing flows through intention, presence, and purposeful touch. Your session becomes a gentle weaving of mirimiri and whitiwhiti kōrero, supporting both tinana and wairua, allowing release, restoration, and realignment to unfold in their own time.

In a session with me - my time is yours.
My space becomes our space - a sanctuary where you can soften, breathe, and return home to yourself safely.

I offer holistic healing grounded in the principles of Rongoā Māori, drawing on mātauranga Māori to support the wellbeing of tinana, hinengaro, and wairua. My practice weaves together traditional plant medicine, mirimiri and romiromi bodywork, alongside Manawa Mauri - a movement and breath based modality that supports the gentle release of stored tension and trauma within the body.

Through Manawa Mauri, I guide individuals to reconnect with their breath and body, using intentional movement to restore flow, balance, and mauri. This approach complements the deeper healing work of Rongoā, creating space for release, awareness, and renewal.

I provide a safe, nurturing space where individuals can reconnect with themselves, restore balance, and support their healing journey. Each session is guided by intuition, tikanga, and the unique needs of the person, acknowledging that true wellbeing comes from harmony within and with the environment.

Whether you are seeking physical relief, emotional support, or spiritual alignment, I am here to walk alongside you with care, respect, and cultural integrity.

Ko Ahlene Hemi ahau

As a Rongoā Māori Practitioner, I bring together my pūkenga in nutrition, personal training, and social services to support your wellbeing in a holistic, culturally grounded way. Guided by Te Whare Tapa Whā, I honour the balance of tinana, hinengaro, wairua and whānau, recognising that true hauora is shaped by every part of your life and environment.

Through nutrition support, I help you reconnect with your relationship to kai, understand the signals of your tinana, and create sustainable changes that uplift your mauri. As a personal trainer, I walk alongside you to build strength, confidence, and embodied wellbeing in a way that feels safe, empowering, and aligned with who you are.

My background in Whānau Ora, Health and Human Behaviour, Psychology, and Social Services allows me to offer guidance with empathy, cultural responsiveness, and deep understanding. ABOUT MY MAHI:

In my mahi, we create a safe, held space for you to journey inward - to descend into Te Kore, the fertile void beneath story, beneath identity, beneath the noise of your world.
Te Kore is the realm where everything can be unmade and remade.
Where you can meet yourself without the armour.
Where healing begins in the dark, in the quiet, in the place before form.

In this space, you are guided gently but deeply into the layers that sit above Te Kore - the physical, emotional, generational, ancestral, and elemental layers that shape your being.
Here, vulnerability is not exposed.
It is unravelled.
Softly.
Steadily.
Safely.

As you sit in Te Kore, your internal waters - ngā wai e rua - begin to move.
They stir.
They spiral.
They vortex through the places you’ve held tight.
They carve new pathways through old sediment - the inherited, the absorbed, the unspoken.
These waters rise with their own intelligence, clearing space where you didn’t know space could exist.

Moving with these waters is Hā a Kui Mā, Hā a Koro Mā - the breath of life from your forebears,
a guiding current of remembrance deep in your bones.
Not a presence outside you,
but a subtle, steady movement within you - a quiet pull back to identity, grounding, and inherited strength.

Along this journey, we use pūrākau. These become navigation tools - not stories to entertain, but ancestral maps that help you understand the terrain of your own healing.
They offer language for the hard things,
context for the deep things, and pathways through the places that feel tangled or overwhelming.

At times, atua guidance moves through our mahi - not as figures to call in,
but as elemental currents that shape the session. The steady grounding of Papatūānuku, the shifting winds of Tāwhirimātea, the cleansing flow of Tangaroa, the transformative heat of Mahuika. These energies rise only when needed, and always in service of your mauri.

Around you, the elements shift in response:

Ahi warms and softens what has hardened.
Wai dissolves, cleanses, reshapes.
Hau clears the internal winds and carries ancestral breath through your tinana.
Whenua anchors you as you descend and recalibrate.
Te Pō holds you in primordial darkness - the womb, the void, the place before story.
Te Ao rises softly as you return - clarity, integration, a new shape of self.

Through mirimiri, mahi ā rākau, taonga pūoro, breath, stillness, pūrākau, atua guidance, and wairua guided processes, we move through the layers above Te Kore and back again - safely, gently, deeply.

This is where:

  • the healer within you wakes
  • the forgotten parts return
  • the internal waters reorganise
  • the mauri recalibrates
  • the lineage shifts
  • the heart space softens
  • the wairua rises

This mahi is intense but soft.
Deep but safe.
Ancient but entirely present.
It is multi‑realm, multi‑layered, elemental, ancestral recalibration -
a remembering of who you were before the world shaped you.

And when you rise from this work, you rise changed.
Not loudly.
Not dramatically.
But deeply.
Softly.
Clearly.
As if something inside you has reorganised itself into its rightful shape.

I walk with you - side by side - through the descent into Te Kore and the rising into Te Ao.
I hold the doorway as you enter the deep, and I hold the light as you return.

This is not just healing.
This is remembering.
Repatterning.
Reconnection.
A walking home to yourself - across realms, across time, across whakapapa.

RONGOĀ HONONGA:

Alongside the wairua descent, my mahi is grounded in a deep, lived relationship with rongoā rau, rongoā rākau, and ancestral plant medicine.

I was raised within te ao rongoā, knowing that rākau are kaiako, learning through whānau transmission, observation, and lived experience.
This foundation is strengthened by my horticulture background, where plant science and mātauranga Māori meet.

This is not generic herbalism.
This is ancestral plant medicine shaped through whakapapa, whenua, daily practice and lived experience.

I work with rongoā as a living relationship - plants chosen not only for their medicinal properties, but for their mauri, their elemental signatures, and the way they speak to your healing across tinana, hinengaro, wairua, and whakapapa.

Together, we may formulate and customise a rongoā to support your oranga journey.
This may include:

  • balms
  • oils
  • teas
  • washes
  • poultices
  • steams
  • tinctures & elixirs
  • wairākau
  • or plant allies to support emotional, physical, or ancestral layers

Each formulation is created with aroha, intention, tikanga, and alignment to your unique healing pathway.

TRADITIONAL MĀORI BODYWORK & PHYSICAL REHABILITATION

My mahi also moves through the physical realm with depth and precision.

Through traditional Māori bodywork - I support the rehabilitation of physical injury by:

  • releasing tension patterns created by trauma and impact
  • restoring mobility and functional movement
  • supporting the nervous system to settle
  • improving circulation and lymphatic flow
  • reducing inflammation
  • reconnecting you to your tinana after pain or disconnection
  • addressing emotional residue stored in the tissue
  • shifting energetic blockages around injury
  • working with the deeper patterns beneath chronic pain

This is not massage.
This is traditional Māori bodywork as a rehabilitation pathway, guided by tupuna, informed by anatomy, and grounded in tikanga.

THE WEAVE OF MY MAHI

Te Rāranga o tōku mahi:

Wairua.
Rongoā.
Bodywork.
Ancestral remembering.
Elemental recalibration.
Physical rehabilitation.
Mauri restoration.

These are not separate modalities.
They are one kaupapa, expressed through different layers of the same healing journey.

Everything I offer is interconnected.
Everything is shaped by the same guiding current:
to walk with you safely, deeply, and honourably as you return to yourself.
